Apprenticeship Scheme
Trade apprenticeships with Monmouthshire Housing Association
Our Apprentices are provided with support to achieve NVQ levels 2 and 3 over a three to four year period, together with practical work experience.
Advertisements for the Apprenticeship Scheme are normally placed in March/April of each year and we generally recruit Apprentices into the following areas:
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Heating
- Plumbing
- Painting
As an Apprentice you will receive:
- 13 week Skill Build work experience, managed by Torfaen Training, to ‘try out’ the job before you embark on any qualifications. Torfaen Training pay Apprentices £50 per week during Skill Build *
- Paid day release to attend Further Education Colleges
- Practical work experience with a time-served Operative
- Free uniform, personal protective equipment and tool provision
- Full MHA benefits package including final salary pension scheme
- Nationally recognised qualifications
* Apprentices aged over 18 would need to contact their local Jobcentre Plus office to confirm eligibility
Following a successful 13 week Skill Build, Apprentices are recruited by MHA:
Salary as follows:
£150 per week during NVQ1
£200 per week during NVQ 2
£250 per week during NVQ 3
Salary for Trade following achievement of NVQ 3
The above rates are also subject to minimum wage requirements for Apprentices over the age of 18 who have complete one full year as an Apprentice. |
Applicants must have achieved or expect to achieve a good standard of education, with a minimum of two GCSE passes at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
