The right of council and housing association tenants to buy or acquire their home will end on 26th January 2019.

If MHA does not receive your Right to Buy or Right to Acquire application by this date we will be unable to accept your application.

Information about the changes the Act will bring are available at the Welsh Government website here. MHA will be contacting all affected tenants with about the changes before the 24th March 2018. If you have not received this information by this date, please get in touch and we will re-send it to you.

If you are a tenant of Monmouthshire Housing Association you might be able to purchase your home at a discount under the right to acquire scheme. Or alternatively, through the right to buy scheme if you are a transferring tenant from Monmouthshire County Council.

Buying your home could provide an investment for the future. It is likely to be one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll ever make though, so you should take impartial financial and legal advice beforehand.
