The Caldicot food bank would not be the success it is without the wonderful ladies who give their time to help others within our community. Danielle and her team collect and distribute both food and essential toiletries to those families and local residents that are most in need from Caldicot and its surrounding areas.

As we enter the winter and the run up to Christmas MHA were honoured to donate £500 to the Caldicot food bank to enable them to continue the amazing work that they do and to help many more families. Christmas may well be a very different affair this year for many people but with a little help from MHA Caldicot Food bank can now handle the expected increase in demand for the festive season.

Claire from MHA said “MHA support the foodbanks in Monmouthshire throughout the year as they provide such a vital service to those in crisis in the community. It is a valued partnership as we have shared aims to impact poverty across the County. It was nice to meet all the volunteers and talk about our future work’

Danielle said ‘We are very grateful for this donation from MHA towards the costs of our Christmas Parcel Scheme. In December every year, as well as providing a standard Foodbank package, we also supply additional Christmas food items and small gifts for those who would otherwise go without. Last year these parcels were provided to 239 people, of whom 143 were children and we anticipate that this year, sadly, there will be more need than ever. The help you have given will allow us to spread some Christmas cheer to the most vulnerable in our community. Thank you so much for your support.’

Although MHA own over 4,000 homes across the County, they proudly operate as one community. Providing support to those who live in Monmouthshire is a vital aspect of their engagement work and something they are honoured and proud to do.
