We celebrated an Equali-tea Party for LGBT+ History Month! thumbnail

As part of LGBT+ History Month, we hosted a vibrant Equali-tea party for staff, where we filled our cups with knowledge, resources and pride!

At MHA, inclusivity is a key ingredient to everything we do. We are committed to developing an inclusive culture, where we listen closely to our residents, encourage colleagues to bring their whole self to work and to feel safe to share their lives with us and feel heard.

We love to live and breathe our commitments, that’s why we hosted an opportunity for staff to engage in learning, reflection and open conversations around the month. The event featured a range of informative resources for staff to indulge in, a live quiz and opportunity to share messages of allyship on rainbow themed card, designed to raise awareness of LGBT+ History and contributions.

Kate Bentley, Head of Corporate Services, said:

It was a real hands-on example of how we’re putting our values into practice –in line with our commitment to the HouseProud LGBTQ+ Social Housing Pledge. For us, it’ building communities where everybody feels safe and supported. The tea party helped bring this vision to life, showing that even small acts, like sharing a cup of tea and learning – can help lay the foundations to lasting progress.

MHA have signed up to the Stonewall’s LGBTQ+ Housing pledge which invites social housing providers to take a stand for inclusion by committing to LGBT+ resident equality and support. You can read more here: LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge – Stonewall Housing
