At MHA, we love having the opportunity to showcase the work we are doing and talk openly about the challenges the housing sector faces; so have taken advantage of the beautiful summer to get out and about with many of our valued partners.
Last week, Catherine Fookes MP, Cllr Sara Burch; MCC Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Housing & Tourism and Cllr Angela Sandles; Cabinet Member for Equalities and Engagement joined us to see first-hand some of the work undertaken by MHA to increase the supply of affordable housing, improve existing stock in Monmouthshire, and hear about the services we provide to support residents to enable them to thrive in their homes and communities.
The whistlestop tour kicked off in Caldicot at the newly retrofitted older persons accommodation Cwrt Severn; demonstrating our commitment to investing in existing homes, ensuring they are more cost-efficient, warmer and comfortable for the residents.
We then popped around the corner to Old School Close, an attractive general needs development built over 10 years ago reinforcing MHA’s ongoing commitment to creating sustainable communities and high-quality homes.
We were then delighted that Undy ward members Councillor John Crook, Councillor Angela Sandles joined us, along with construction partner Harper Group for the final visit to our new development of 32 homes in Undy, which is underway.
MHA very much value working closely with the Welsh and UK Governments, local authorities and many partners to both meet their housing need, tackle the housing crisis and continue to support residents to connect them to local opportunities and services.
