MHA celebrated the launch of newly refurbished Granville Garden, Monmouth on Friday 18th August 2023.

Granville Garden officially opened its gates after refurbishments were carried out in response to tenant requests to make the garden greener and more environmentally friendly. Despite the rain, the day was made brighter by Cllr Fookes who cut the ribbon to officially open the Garden.

The refurbishment was undertaken in partnership with MHA’s Neighbourhood and Assets Teams. To transform the concrete space, we partitioned the garden into 3 levels, added resin flooring, provided a new washing area, railings and handrails, repointed walls and provided planters and benches.

The garden now boasts an airy, bright space for tenants to plant, nurture and most importantly, find solace in the outdoors.

Sian Nicholas, Head of Neighbourhoods said:

We are delighted to have been able to provide a safe and secure outdoor space at Granville Street where tenants now have places to plant, play and relax“.

During the launch, the refurbished garden served as the perfect canvas for tenants to decorate with flowers, pots and agriculture, infusing a sense of togetherness, which the garden will bring. There was a plethora of seeds planted by those who joined the launch, all nurtured with smiles mirroring the positive response to the refurbishments.

We can’t wait to watch this space blossom!
