Monmouthshire Housing Association’s (MHA) wider group community work has been recognised by Abergavenny Gateway at their recent Christmas carol service held at the Abergavenny Gateway Church.

MHA’s trio of community support teams comprise of Engagement, iConnect and Financial Wellbeing. Together they work in partnership to provide ‘wraparound support’ for community groups and tenants; delivering projects and activities that benefit hundreds of tenants and the wider community each year.

A very happy Rachel Knight, MHA’s Engagement and Partnership Manager said

“The Engagement team are thrilled to receive this award and can’t wait to build upon our great partnership work in 2024.

Working together has allowed us to broaden our reach to meet the needs of our tenants and communities, between us we are able to help alleviate the burden that people are experiencing through the cost of living crisis.

Pooling resources means we can support people in multiple areas at one time, helping to build resilience and long term sustainable change. We will be launching new joint community projects in the New Year”

Abergavenny Gateway offer a wide variety of support including a community Café, young club, food hampers , IT support, Working Wardrobe, mother and toddler group and more.
